Exhibited at SITE, a startup event in Thailand, for the first time in four years

SITE (formerly Startup Thailand), held in Bangkok, Thailand, is one of the largest startup events in Southeast Asia, organized by the National Innovation Agency (NIA) of Thailand. At the previous event, more than 500 startups from 40 countries participated and more than 60,000 people visited the event. This year marks the fifth time the event has been held, and the first time in four years as an onsite event. Fukuoka City has participated in the event since 2018 and has worked with Fukuoka startups to exhibit booths and pitch to local investors and companies onsite.

Various forums, booth exhibits, stage events, pitch events, and networking events were held over the three-day period from June 24 to 27. Since this was the first real event held after the pandemic and there was no participation fee, a large number of participants gathered, including not only people involved in startups but also student groups. The opening ceremony was held on the main stage in the morning of the first day, and was attended by Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and keynote speeches were delivered by Dr. Pun-Arj Chairatana, Executive Director of National Innovation Agency (NIA) of Thailand, and Secretary General of Board of Investment (BOI) of Thailand.

We also spoke at a pitch event at a local venue with startups from Fukuoka.

The Only Japanese Participant in Latitude59°, a Startup Event in Estonia

Latitude59° is a startup event that has been held since 2012 in Estonia, a small country with a population of approximately 1.3 million people but the highest number of startups per capita in Europe and considered a leading digital government country. (https://latitude59.ee/)
Approximately 3,000 participants gathered for two days of booth exhibits, stage pitches, and networking. Fukuoka City was the only Japanese city to have a booth, so startups, support organizations, and people working for Japanese companies in Europe who are interested in expanding to Japan and Fukuoka stopped by.
On the first day, President Alar Karis took the stage, and there was also a vehicle exhibit by Auve Tech, which is developing the MiCa self-driving car in the smart city area, and an opportunity to learn about the latest innovations in Europe.

Fukuoka City exhibited a booth at the venue and also hosted the Fukuoka Event to exchange ideas and network with various startups, investors, and businesses.
